Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
